Transfer report: Kaizer Chiefs attacker to leave

Kaizer Chiefs continue to clean house ahead of the 2026/27 season – and PSL rivals continue to watch closely as they do.

Amakhosi attacker Ashley du Preez is the latest player facing a possible departure out of Naturena.

Reports claim that the club is considering loaning him out. Alternatively, if he stays at the club, he will have to take a substantial pay-cut.

“The club and Du Preez’s representatives are in engagements to find a solution with a loan being considered, but that will depend on how much of the financial load the club signing him wants to take for his package,” KickOff reported.

If he does stay at Kaizer Chiefs he will have to accept a pay-cut.

“What is also certain is that whichever way it goes, Du Preez will have to take a financial drop from what he was on at Chiefs with his next contract,” they added

“If a decision to terminate is reached, then there will be a settlement, which then allows him to move on as a free agent. But, of clubs keen on his services, there will be none able to match his current terms with Amakhosi, so a drop in earnings is expected,” they concluded.

STELLENBOSCH FC LURK

As reported on The South African, Du Preez is on Stellenbosch FC’s radar. Du Preez has been linked with a possible loan move to Stellies, his former club.

Stellenbosch FC recently unveiled former Kaizer Chiefs player George Matlou.

Kaizer Chiefs also reportedly are continuing to pursue Lebogang Phiri from Stellenbosch FC.

Initially, they offered Matlou and Du Preez plus cash, but the offer was declined. Ironically, Matlou was then signed by the same PSL rivals.

SHOULD ASHLEY DU PREEZ LEAVE KAIZER CHIEFS OR STAY AND ACCEPT A PAY-CUT?
