Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the permanent departures of Ashley du Preez and Given Msimango, with both players joining Stellenbosch FC.
The duo leave the Soweto giants after seeing limited game time over the past year, with speculation surrounding their futures throughout the current transfer window.
On Tuesday, Chiefs officially announced Msimango’s move to the Cape Winelands club.
“Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has joined Stellenbosch FC. Msimango, who joined Chiefs from TS Galaxy ahead of the 2023/24 season, made a strong impact during his time at Naturena,” the club said in a statement.
“The 29-year-old international featured in 53 official matches across all competitions, bringing leadership and consistency to Amakhosi’s backline.”

Chiefs also confirmed that striker Ashley du Preez has completed a permanent move to Stellenbosch.
The departures continue Kaizer Chiefs squad overhaul ahead of the new season. The club previously released George Matlou, Happy Mashiane, Gastón Sirino and Tashreeq Morris, while Samkelo Zwane and Fiacre Ntwari were sent out on loan. Defender Aden McCarthy and winger Glody Lilepo were also sold.
Although the Betway Premiership season is already underway, Chiefs could still be active in the transfer market before the window closes. The club is expected to pursue additional signings, while more departures remain possible.
Midfielder Thabo Cele is among the players whose future remains uncertain. Having struggled for regular game time and reportedly fallen out of Fernando Da Cruz’s plans, the 28-year-old could leave Naturena just 18 months after joining the club.
As the transfer window draws near, expect more departures at Kaizer Chiefs.
