Traditional healer and crime activist Thato Molosankwe murdered in Mahikeng

  • North West crime activist and traditional healer Thato Molosankwe was shot and killed during an attack at his Mahikeng home.
  • Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane has ordered maximum resources to be deployed to track down those responsible.
  • Police described Molosankwe as a respected community figure who assisted law enforcement in fighting crime and corruption.

Mahikeng crime activist and traditional healer Thato Molosankwe has been brutally killed by unknown suspects.

Molosankwe was shot and killed after he was attacked at his home in Mahikeng, North West, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 20 May 2026.

Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane has called on North West Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Ryno Naidoo to ensure maximum resources are deployed to hunt down Molosankwe’s killers.

Dimpane condemned the brutal murder and assured the community that no stone would be left unturned until those responsible for this brutal act are found and brought to justice.

Molosankwe played an important role in assisting the police in fighting crime and corruption while also strengthening relations between the SAPS and local communities.

The Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit has since taken over the investigation into the matter.
