University of Western Cape (UWC) held on to their number spot on the Hollywoodbets Super league log as they narrowly defeated Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) 1-0 in the capital city.
Sibulele Holweni’s strike was enough, as UWC registered their first win over the Reds in this clash of the Varsities. They now have 30 points from 11 matches, while TUT are at number 11 with eight points from the same number of games.
Elsewhere Lebogang Ramalepe earned her first Player of the Match award since returning to the country, as Mamelodi Sundowns annihilated Durban Ladies 6-1 in Pretoria. Ramalepe grabbed a brace, so did Andisiwe Mgcoyi, while the other goals came from Lerato Kgasago and Melinda Kgadiete for the former African champions.
The defending champions remain in second position on the standings with 28 points from 11 games.
Meanwhile, Richmond United also steadily kept up with the big girls at the top as they maintained their third spot with a 1-0 victory over rookies Copperbelt Ladies at Merino Park in De Aar.
Richmond now have 25 points in 11 matches, while the Limpopo side are 10th with 12 points from the number of outings.
