Tokollo Magesh Tshabala from Tkzee dies suddenly, as his body is discovered by a family member

Tokollo Magesh Tshabala from Tkzee has died. According to news reports, Mahesh’s lifeless body was discovered by a family member on Monday morning. One of his relatives, who asked to remain anonymous, said that the musician is suspected of having died in his sleep as he was lying on the bed, not moving.

The relative also mentioned that Tshabalala was battling Epilepsy, and it is suspected that he might have suffered an attack in his sleep.

Tokollo was one hit-making group Tkzee along with Zwai Bala and Kabelo Mabalane.
The trio made a big name for themselves in the 90s and early two thousand because of their great sound, which was unique to the group.

Tshabalala was the son of Stanley (Screamer) Tshabala, a former director of the Orlando Pirates soccer team.

Magesh is a founder member of Tkzee, which started at the beginning of the 1990s. The group released their first album in 1996 called Take it Easy, which unfortunately didn’t make it to the music’s top charts.

In 1997 when the group released Phalafala, Tkzee became a name in the industry. The album topped the charts, and the second single, called Shibobo, featuring Benni McCarthy, was one that got the most airplay.

In 1998 Tkzee released Halloween, and the rest, as they say, is history. Halloween took Tkzee to legendary status.

Tokollo has six albums under his name that he released away from Tkzee. He released Ndabezitha in 2000, Gusheshe and All in one in 2002, Waarheid in 2004, the Longest time in 2006 and Heist in 2012.

Tokollo was one of the lists respected members and lyricists in the group and the music industry; his talent was undeniable.

Tokollo’s career was also marred by a bit of controversy. In the early 2000’s he was involved in a fatal accident where a woman was killed in Migaditshabe village Botswana; he was charged with culpable homicide.

Magesh was acquitted years later.

News of Tokollo’s death shocked his fans and the entertainment industry, all expressing pain for losing one of the people who laid the ground for the music in Mzansi.

His father, Screamer Tshabala, released a statement asking for privacy for the family during this grief.

Tokollo was 45 years old.
