This comes as Transport minister Fikile Mbalula announced at the end of last year that the current driving licence cards would be phased out.

Eskom downgrades load shedding to Stage 4 – Here’s the schedule

Eskom will be implementing Stage 4 and 5 load shedding alternatively from f Tuesday, 17 January. 

The embattled power utility said Stage 5 load shedding will be implemented from 05:00 – 16:00 while Stage 4 will be implemented from 16:00 – 05:00 daily.

Water RESTRICTIONS possible as power failures impact supply

Rand Water has appealed to consumers to use water sparingly after it noticed an increase in water demand due to high temperatures, there is a possibility of water restrictions being implemented.

Water storage in its reservoirs is now rapidly declining.

Escaped TIGER still on the loose in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon

A team of trackers, police and residents are STILL searching for the escaped tiger on Monday afternoon. 

Police have urged the public to be on HIGH alert as the escaped tiger is still on the loose in Walkerville and the surroundings in Johannesburg.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello, it is reported that the tiger escaped from its cage and attacked a 39-year-old man and a dog in the area.

Cape Town aardvark: SPCA investigating cause of death

The Cape of Good Hope SPCA is investigating the cause of death of an aardvark that washed up at Milnerton’s Beach in Cape Town. 

Beachgoers were stunned when an aardvark, one of the rarely seen nocturnal animals, washed ashore on Friday, 13 January; unfortunately, the aardvark had already died.
