TMPD impounded 21 food delivery motorcycles in Pretoria East for non-compliance with traffic laws.
Many riders were reportedly operating without valid documents or licenses.
The operation follows a recent crackdown where over ten minibus taxis were seized in the city.

Twenty-one food delivery motorcycles have been impounded in Pretoria East as part of the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department’s (TMPD) Transport Month operations on Thursday.

According to TMPD spokesperson Puleng Motholo, the motorcycles were seized for non-compliance with road traffic regulations, with many of the riders found to be operating without the necessary documentation or licenses.

Motholo said these operations form part of the city’s efforts to promote road safety and ensure that all road users adhere to the law.

The latest impoundment comes just a week after more than ten minibus taxis were seized in Hatfield and Eastlynne during similar enforcement actions.

Motholo previously warned that lawlessness among taxi operators and other motorists would not be tolerated in the City of Tshwane.
