Timm – What Riveiro Brings To Pirates

New Orlando Pirates signing Miguel Timm has explained what new head coach Jose Riveiro brings to the Buccaneers.

Riveiro was appointed by the club in the beginning of pre-season, joining from FC Inter Turku in Finland – a move that surprised many in the local football fraternity.

But the Spaniard is known as a ‘football brain’, an obsessive tactician with attention to details and an attacking style of football.

While fans are yet to see Riveiro’s team in action, Timm given some insight how the players feel under the new technical team.

“[He brings] good energy, a calmness,” he told the On The Whistle podcast.

“There is camaraderie amongst ourselves and obviously implementation of how we are trying as a team and function, which is obviously what pre-season is for.

“I think we’re all adapting well so far. There is still enough time to grasp his methods before the season kicks and I think we’re on the right track at the moment.”

Timm also admitted he feels the squad revamp will help the club to change the fortunes.

“I do [feel like it’s a new dawn]. There are still quite a few players who are still here from the previous group,” he added.

“So we’re coming in as new players and obviously they lead the way to help us fit in well, which they’ve all been very welcoming. We all feel at home.

“I feel very confident at the moment. I know we haven’t kicked the ball as a club but my feelings are very strong.

“I hope and I believe we’re working towards changing fortunes at the club. This is a massive club and they deserve more than what they’ve been bringing in previous seasons.

“So I’m really working hard to contribute – whether it’s one percent, it’s better than zero but I’m optimistic about what we can all do as a club going forward.
