Timm – We’re Not Here To Talk

Man of the match Miguel Timm said they didn’t entertain any nonsense leading up to Friday’s semi-final against Tshakhuma, as Marumo Gallants advanced to the Nedbank Cup final with a 1-0 in Thohoyandou.

Gallants booked their place in the final, giving them a chance to defend the title they won last season, when they were still known as TTM.

The midfielder said it was a tough game, but they absorbed the pressure well and everything else fell into place.

“This is what we expected,” Timm said after the game.

“It’s a semi final this, there’s no real favourites. I said in the week. If you respect the game of soccer, naturally the things will fall, the rest of the good things will fall into place, tactics, mentality, which we did today.

“Like you said, tough first half, but when you have a lot of mature players, you’re able to absorb the pressure and have a positive mindset that things will open up eventually.

“And we show that throughout the 90 minutes and that’s why we prevailed.”

Timm said they ignore any mind-games played by TTM in the media, and praised his coach Dan Malesela for doing the same.

“What’s that saying? An empty can makes the most noise. Today we don’t talk a lot. We’re professional soccer players, we’re not here to talk, our work is in the field. The coach’s job is to coach us and big ups to him and his technical team for not entertaining any nonsense leading up to this game. We stayed focused on our targets and that’s why prevailed tonight.
