Time Running Out For Jele

Published

on

Former Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele has grown frustrated in his search for a new club after the likes of Cape Town City and SuperSport United opted not to pursue the veteran defender.

Royal AM have been mooted as the favourites for his signature but with a significant wage decrease expected on a one-year deal, talks have been ongoing.

Pirates released the long-serving player, who so far, has been a one-club man after he informed them of his desire to continue his playing career.

But it could be shades of the Hlompho Kekana situation where the player’s package simply scares suitors away or the ‘right project’ does not come along to suit their desire to continue.

Royal AM, though, did indicate they want to make one more “big announcement” this window, hoping they can agree to a contract with 35-year-old.
