Grammy winner Tyla will perform in South Africa for the first time since her hit “Water” made her famous worldwide.
The 22-year-old will perform at Cape Town’s Grand Arena, GrandWest, on 5 December, and Pretoria’s SunBet Arena on 7 December. Both shows will start at 8pm.
Tickets start at R500 and will be available on Ticketmaster from 9am on 10 October.
“I’ve been travelling the world, experiencing so much along the way. It’s been a journey, but now I’m finally coming home,” Tyla said.
“I’m beyond excited to perform for my Tygers and share this moment with all of you.”
“Water” made Tyla the highest-charting female soloist on the US Hot 100 chart, peaking at #7.
The song also made her the youngest-ever South African and the first South African soloist to enter the Billboard Hot 100 in over 55 years, according to a Bizcommunity report.
She won the inaugural Best African Music Performance at the Grammys in February.
Tyla released her debut self-titled album in March, which reached #1 on the US World Albums Chart.
The “Queen of Popiano” has been critically acclaimed for her ability to blend amapiano, afrobeats, contemporary R&B, and pop into her sound.
New Musical Express called her “South Africa’s brightest new star,” while Rolling Stone magazine said, “Tyla’s debut album proves she’s the perfect amapiano ambassador.”
