  • Three men were killed in a brutal vigilante attack in Kraaifontein after being accused of criminal activity and then set alight by community members.
  • The victims were discovered on Wednesday night, prompting police to launch a murder investigation and appeal to the public for information.
  • Authorities have condemned the unlawful killings and warned that vigilantism will not be tolerated, urging residents to use legal channels to report crimes.

Three men were killed in a brutal vigilante attack in the Wallacedene area of Kraaifontein on Wednesday night.

The victims, all believed to be in their thirties, were allegedly set alight by community members who accused them of criminal activity.

The bodies of the men were discovered on Laboheme Street at approximately 10 pm.

The community allegedly took justice into their own hands instead of involving the police.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has since launched a murder investigation into the deaths.

Western Cape police have strongly condemned the unlawful killings and warned that such vigilantism will not be tolerated. Officials reminded the public that justice must be pursued through legal channels.

Detectives are now actively searching for the perpetrators and have appealed to residents with any information to come forward. The public can provide anonymous tips through the MySAPS app or by calling Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Authorities stated that cooperation from the community is essential to bringing those responsible to justice.
