Three Greyhound buses burnt in Boksburg

  • Three Greyhound buses and a trailer were destroyed in a fire at the company’s depot in Boksburg.

Three Greyhound buses and a trailer were destroyed in a fire at the company’s Jet Park depot in Boksburg, according to the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD).

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, did not result in any injuries or fatalities.

EMPD spokesperson Eric Maloka confirmed that the fire was swiftly contained and extinguished.

“Fire was well contained and put to rest by our fire crews with conjunction with ACSA fire rescue; their rescue and water tanker were on site,” Maloka stated.

He added that two other buses at the depot were saved from the blaze after being driven to a safe area.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
