Three Arrested After Police Intercept R11 Million Dagga Shipment in Limpopo
Today, Sunday, 31 May 2026, police in Limpopo intercepted dagga worth an estimated R11 million during a major breakthrough under Operation Shanela, a nationwide SAPS crime-fighting initiative targeting organised crime and drug trafficking networks.
Preliminary reports indicate the drugs were smuggled from Eswatini through Limpopo, with the intention of being distributed across several parts of South Africa, pointing to ongoing cross-border syndicate activity.
Three suspects have been arrested and are expected to appear in court soon, while the South African Police Service says intelligence-led operations continue to disrupt major drug routes and criminal supply chains.
