‘This is a Philly’s Games team’ – Baloyi tears into Kaizer Chiefs

Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brian Baloyi has launched a scathing attack on Amakhosi following their 1-0 loss to Richards Bay FC on Tuesday night.

Chiefs suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions after going down to the Natal Rich Boys in a Betway Premiership clash, a result that has further intensified pressure on the technical team.

Speaking on Soccer Beat, the former Bafana Bafana shot-stopper did not hold back in his assessment of the team’s recent performances.

“It’s really depressing and heartbreaking to watch, especially after what happened on Saturday at the derby. One was humiliated at the stadium and now has to sit and watch the whole 90 minutes,” Baloyi said.

Kaizer Chiefs legend calls team amateur

Baloyi also questioned the constant changes to the starting line-up, suggesting the instability points to deeper coaching issues at the club.

“The co-coaches must stop being secretive; they must tell us if these changes are injury-forced or if it is just changes. Are they trying to find something?” he said.

“Clearly, this is an amateur team. This is a Philly’s Games team, we can’t call this a professional team if they haven’t had the same starting lineup.”

The former goalkeeper added that he could not remember the last time Chiefs fielded the same starting XI in back-to-back matches, a lack of continuity he believes is hurting the team.

With results deteriorating and criticism mounting from club legends, the pressure continues to grow at Naturena as Amakhosi search for answers.

What should Amakhosi do?
