Thembisa Mdoda breaks silence over persistent divorce rumours

Thembisa Nxumalo, née Mdoda, has coyly downplayed the rumours of her impending divorce, after word spread of a supposed looming end to her marriage.

Thembisa, the estranged sister of newlywed radio jock Anele Mdoda, took to X (formerly Twitter) at the weekend and posted: “the dumbest thing I’ve ever read”, seemingly in response to the rumours.

Her marriage to Mfanelo Nxumalo is her second, after her divorce to fellow thespian, Atandwa Kani – son of legendary actor, Dr John Kani.

If the rumours about the divorce are confirmed, the award-winning TV presenter will join a list of South African celebrities who are also going through a divorce, such as Rachel Kolisi – who is currently in the process of divorcing rugby icon Siya Kolisi.

CHEEKY REPSONSE TO THE DIVORCE RUMOURS

The rumour mill is on high speed with unending speculations about the state of Thembisa Mdoda’s marriage to Mfanelo. The TV star’s marriage is allegedly on the rocks, but according to her response, she’s clearly playing down the situation. She posted the following on her X account:

@bethelZETO wrote:

“Ignore them sis♥️“

@BuhleP added:

“These days uvele ube shocked ziindaba zakho sana”

@Nnana16835454 commented:

“Don’t mind them”.

THEMBISA’S MYSTERIOUS HUSBAND

Unlike her first public marriage, Thembisa Mdoda’s kept her second husband away from the spotlight. On certain occasions, such as a sentimental throwback or his birthday, the actress only went so far as to post pictures of Nxumalo as a child.

The couple met on the set of Mzansi Magic’s Our Perfect Wedding, where Thembisa was the host, and he was a member of the crew.
