The Queen Mzansi Cancelled After Seven Years

This one right here will give a lot of people chest pains! The Queen cast had to learn through social media that the Ferguson Production couldn’t secure a contract for another season.

It was quite evident that the soapie had lost a large number of viewership but little did we know that things were very bad. The viewership drastically decreased after the death of Shona Ferguson who was the captain of the now sinking ship.

This sad news was announced by Phil Mphela who usually posts entertainment industry news on Twitter. In the morning he announced that Brenda Ngxoli was leaving the show due to salary disputes.

TV: Brenda Ngxoli quits #TheQueenMzansi After almost 3 years playing Noma on the Mzansi Magic telenovela, Ngxoli has left. Word is … she had a salary issue that could not be resolved,” he wrote.

The news received mixed reactions with Brenda coming forward to debunk that she’s leaving the telenovela due to salary disputes.

That’s when Phil Mphela threw another bomb telling South Africans that the telenovela has been cancelled and the cast doesn’t know it yet.

“TV: #TheQueenMzansi CANCELLED After almost 7 years on air, the Mzansi Magic telenovela will not be renewed for another season. Barring any changes to accommodate wrapping the storylines, the show will likely end this year,” he wrote.
