Lwazie Keith Tsebesha attended the 2026 South African Fashion Awards on Saturday, 3 October 2026, and shared how impactful her role in The Polygamist was for her in terms of fashion.

The actress, who wore a black, one-shoulder outfit with rhinestone accents and a high collar by designer Govern Sibisi, shared with BONA her favourite fashion moments on the show.

Stepping out of your comfort zone

Lwazie stated that a lesson she learned about fashion while shooting the show was to step out of her shell. The show is known for its poignant symbolism through clothing, colour and sometimes props. They used a lot of visual storytelling to provide richness and depth to the plot, and through that experience, the actress shared what she learned.

“To get out of my own shell, cause what I wore there, I have never worn ever in my life,” she noted, referring to the corsets, tight clothing, and feminine structure.

She credits the style and wardrobe assigned to her character, Sarah, with allowing her to tap into different things in terms of fashion, essentially positioning her in a space that was outside her comfort zone.

Lwazie Keith Tsebesha’s favourite look on set

The actress looked back on her experience on the show and shared what her favourite outfit was.

Shyly, she narrated the scene where she wore a red outfit, with a high collar and a puffed-sleeve cropped shirt and a tight high-waisted skirt.

“It shows every single thing that God gave you.”

She excitedly described some of the reasons why she loved that specific outfit. Further stating how the red outfit was “so cute.”

The outfit was a fierce moment, along with the risky scene it featured in; the soft material of the shirt and the tight-fitting skirt were a beautiful way to communicate the cruelty of her actions through her fragile state.
