South Africa had its fair share of male celebrity beef in the past. Here are some of them that had us wholly shaken and crazy on socials.
Rapper Nasty C and singer Dr Malinga
Nasty C won Song of The Year at the South African Music Awards in 2017. Many people anticipated the award to go to Babes Wodumo, but she didn’t win it. After the rapper won the award, singer Malinga tweeted and said, Nasty should give the prize to Babes. Nasty C made a video dissing him, calling him an abomination and an embarrassment.
AKA and Cassper Nyovest
AKA and Cassper initially got along when Cass entered the scene. After a short while, the two started fighting over who was the best. AKA dissed Cassper so many times that he also called Mufasa’s parents deadbeats for allowing him to drop out of school. Nyovest didn’t take the hits quietly, and he publicly said DJ Zinhle has two kids, namely AKA and Kairo. Cassper also took punches on the Composure rapper’s Cruz drink.
Black Coffee and Prince Kaybee
Two Mzansi DJs have the widest song catalogues. Prince Kaybee tweeted he’s the most streamed Dj from Mzansi. Coffee tweeted an image of his streams and sarcastically told the Fetch Your Life DJ was right. Mzansi went wild over the jab.
Cassper Nyovest and Naak MusiQ
In the war aspect of Mzansi black Twitter, Cassper and Anga Makhubulo have clashed on the streets more than once. Their arguing turned to them eventually belittling one another on Twitter. In April this year, the two will have a boxing match to settle the beef once and for all.
Anatii and AKA
Producer and artist and AKA once clashed over Anatii’s prices for beats. Casino’s rapper felt Anatii was too expensive and unreasonable. They dissed each other on various platforms until they squashed their beef. Both stars eventually collaborated and created the album Ten Fingers together.
With all these local rifts, Mzansi, in turn, fought one another based on who they supported. It’s just entertainment, and it should end there.
