Actress Ayanda Borotho returns to Generations: The Legacy after 22 years. Celebrated actress Ayanda Borotho has reportedly joined the cast of Generations: The Legacy. Of interest is the fact that this is the second time she once starred in the drama series decades ago. No doubt she is a darling of Generations. As puzzling as it is, her first acting gig was on Generations.

She made her on-screen debut when she was cast in Generations. The bubbly actress made her debut in 1999 after landing the role of babysitting schoolgirl Thami in the SABC 1. In the wake of her newfound fame, she later starred in 2000 in the Leon Schuster film Mr Bones.

Years later, she made all sorts of headlines with her Nomzamo on-screen character after replacing Zinzile Zungu in 2007 in SABC 1 sitcom Nomzamo. In the backdrop of her on-screen limelight, she switched the floor to play Busi in SABC 1 drama series Home Affairs in 2009. In 2013 Ayanda was cast as Phumelele on Mzansi Magic’s telenovela IsiBaya. In 2018 she was cast as Khethiwe in a South African television drama, Ambitions.

In recent years she has gone awol on Mzansi, leaving many about her whereabouts. Whilst Mzansi was busy trying to connect the dots, Phil Mphela did justice to her whereabouts. The celebrated media commentator said she was heading back to Generations for a second stint with the drama series. Taking it to Twitter, he did reveal that  Ayanda joins the cast of the SABC1 soapie on a short block. However, the actress is yet to confirm the news, but many of her fans are excited already.

Mzansi has since flooded the comment section in the mix of things with their two cents. Viewers are more than pleased about her much-talked-about return on Generations. Against this news, the showrunners are yet to give an official statement regarding her return.

Little is known about her on-screen character, but it has been confirmed that she will be on set for a short block. With an illustrious career spanning years, she has scored big nominations for awards like MIPAD Awards.

Despite all being said, she keeps her private life under wraps. The bubbly actress is a mother of three. She is married to Dr Filike Ngubane. She once topped trends when she revealed that she has a strict “No English Policy” in her household. Her children speak Zulu and Sotho at home.
