The late AKA’s furniture ‘removed’ from Bryanston home

The furniture of the late musician AKA has been removed from his R4 million home in Bryanston, according to a report by Sunday World. This occurred after the landlord of the property, Nthsimane Mekoa, terminated the lease agreement with the rapper shortly after his passing. A close friend of AKA, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of victimization, revealed that contrary to popular belief, the home did not belong to the Company hitmaker. Instead, he was renting the property for about R40 000 per month.

“Many people assumed that the house belonged to him because of the vehicles he drove,” said the source.

Despite AKA having paid his rent in advance until September 2023, his landlord informed the Forbes family that they needed to remove his furniture as new tenants would be moving in. The furniture was reportedly placed in storage as the family removed it without protest.

A neighbour revealed that the Fela In Versace hitmaker had moved into the house several years ago with his ex-girlfriend and media personality Bonang Matheba. The neighbour also stated that new occupants have lived in the house for over a month.

LANDLORD RESPONDS

Despite rumours and speculation, Mekoa has firmly denied any claims that he forcibly removed AKA from the premises or had any disagreement with the musician’s family. Additionally, Mekoa has stated that it is simply not true that AKA had paid his rent in advance. Mekoa further explained that he is unable to disclose any information regarding the lease agreement between himself and the late artist as it is a private matter between the two parties.
