The Kiffness – real name Dave Scott – has claimed to have lost a half a million rand deal over his social media posts showing support for Charlie Kirk.

Like Kirk, the Cape Town muso is known for his controversial views about the country on topics like race, politics, and religion.

The muso posted a screenshot from what appeared to be an email. In it were the words: “After careful consideration, we must inform you that we must terminate The Kiffness’ contract with [blocked out word] effective immediately.

“This decision has been made in light of recent social media activity, which poses a reputational risk to both our agency and the client’s brand.”

Responding to an X user, he added, “I don’t want vengeance. It was just to highlight how fickle brands are – if anything is deemed controversial, they’re gone. Which is why you’ll hardly hear any celebrities with brand deals speak out on important issues, especially if they depend on brand deals.”

ERNST ROETS, AFRIFORUM AND ORANIA RESIDENTS PAY TRIBUTE

Meanwhile, a host of South African profiles have paid tribute to Charlie Kirk’s legacy.

Outspoken activist Ernst Roets – who led a delegation to the US to address the “racial discrimination” against white people – laid wreaths at the US Embassy in memory of the American.

Afrikaner rights organisation AfriForum and its Youth division also had a special message for Kirk.

So did Orania leader Joost Strydom, who offered his condolences on behalf of all residents of the white Afrikaner-only town.

“Orania mourns with our friends in the United States, and conservatives worldwide”, read the message
