Legendary Italian designer and billionaire Georgio Armani has died at the age of 91. His death was confirmed on Instagram by the Armani group.
“Milan, September 4, 2025 – With infinite condolences, the Armani group announces the passing of its inventor, founder and tireless engine: Giorgio Armani.”
The brand owner of the luxurious brand passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.
He has been described as the archetype of Italian style and elegance, reimagining suits for a modern audience.
His company, Armani, reportedly expanded from fashion into an empire spanning beauty, fragrance, music, sport, and even luxury hotels, bringing in more than £2bn a year.
“Tireless, he has worked until the last days, dedicating himself to the company, to the collections, to the different and always new projects in being and to becoming.
Over the years, Giorgio Armani has created a vision that has expanded from fashion to every aspect of life, anticipating the times with extraordinary clarity and precision. The statement published on Instagram mentioned that the late designer has always made independence, thought, and action his hallmark.
