The actress from Generations: The Legacy, also urged fans and the public not to turn the situation into a public feud between her and her husband.

“I respectfully ask that this does not turn into a Thato vs Gash1 battle. We met, fell in love, tried building a family to the best of our abilities. For me I am heartbroken, but I need to soldier on and continue working.”

She explained that although the situation has been painful, she remains focused on moving forward and taking care of her child.

“I would have never wanted to raise my child alone; however, I have always maintained that there are certain non-negotiables I cannot compromise on… I will not betray myself.”

CLARIFYING THE RUMOURS

The actress also addressed speculation around the situation. She made it clear that the separation is not related to cheating.

THEIR LOVE STORY

Thato and Gash1’s relationship first captured public attention when they met on Big Brother Mzansi Season 3 (Beke Le Beke) in 2022. They formed a close connection inside the house and made their relationship official shortly before Thato’s eviction in March that year.

Gash1 later finished the season as the runner-up. After the show, their relationship continued to grow, and they eventually got married in 2022.

WELCOMING THEIR CHILD

The couple also share a son together. In August 2025, they announced that they were expecting their first child.

Later in September 2025, Thato shared a video on TikTok celebrating the arrival of their baby.

She captioned the post: “Our gift from God has finally arrived. Glory to Jesus. Our best kept secret.”

Although this chapter of her life has come with heartbreak, Thato told her supporters that she is now focused on building a healthy and happy future for herself and her child.

“Moving forward, it will just be me and my baby, and I am fully focused on building a healthy, happy future for us.”
