Sekhukhune United head coach Kaitano Tembo says he is hopeful his side can beat Orlando Pirates and end their six-match winless run on Tuesday.
Babina Noko is skating on thin ice, as they are sitting 15th place on the log, having collected only seven points in the eight games they’ve played.
Tembo feels like the FIFA break came at the right time, as it gave some players a chance to recover from their injuries.
“Well, I think preparations have been going very well,” Tembo told Sekhukhune’s media department.
“We’ve had enough time to rest and look at areas that we need to improve as a team and things we need to continue doing well.
“And we’ve done that and got an opportunity to give time to other guys who coming off injuries or who had those small niggles to recover and the international break gave us that opportunity.”
Tembo also praised Pirates but insisted his side new to collect three points at home, no matter the strength of their opposition.
“But you know sometimes coming off a break like that you have to start again hopefully the players will be in good mode, in a good space looking at the nature of the opponent that we are playing against,” he added.
“We playing against a very good team, Orlando Pirates so it puts everyone on their toes because it’s a big game. We prepared very well, players are looking to the game and we need to play our normal attacking football because we are really in need of points, we need to win games.
“This is our home game so we can’t hold back, what’s important is for us to go out there and give a performance that will give us positive results and I’m quite positive with what I’ve been seeing at training that we gonna go out there and play football that will give us three points.”
This hasn’t been a good fixture for Sekhukhune, as they lost both home and away last season letting Pirates walk away with six points.
