Tebogo Thobejane is turning a traumatic chapter of her life into a story of survival as she begins work on her upcoming book.
The author and survivor is using the project as a way to start afresh after a harrowing ordeal that nearly cost her life.
Thobejane was targeted in a shooting allegedly orchestrated by Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, who is accused of paying R150,000 for the failed attack on his former girlfriend.
Reports indicate that the funds were allegedly transferred through a business account belonging to Nthabiseng Nzama, daughter of Matlala’s co-accused Floyd Tiego Mahusela.
During the attack, Thobejane was shot in the foot, while her passenger suffered a spinal injury that left them paralysed.
Fearing for her safety, Thobejane subsequently left South Africa and has been living abroad.
Now, she is focusing on her next chapter through writing, intending to share intimate details about her life and experiences.
The book is expected to offer insight into the ordeal she endured, as well as her journey toward healing and reclaiming her life.
