Tau Again Included In CAFCL Team Of The Week
Percy Tau has made back-to-back appearances in the CAF Champions League of the Week after being involved in six Al Ahly goals over the semi-final first- and second leg.
The South African winger, who netted a brace and assisted two more in Al Ahly’s 4-0 first-leg victory over ES Setif, again set up both of Al Ahly’s goals in the second leg.
The reigning champions had once again started on fire, with Tau setting up Ahmed Abdelkader after just two minutes.
However, the visitors lost a bit of control of the match when Setif managed to find the equaliser just before half-time, and even score the 2-1 in the 61st minute.
Pitso Mosimane’s side, though, managed to secure their coach’s unbeaten run in the CAFCL knockout stages since joining the club, when Tau set up Mohamed Sherif to save a draw in injury time.
As a consequence, Tau wasn’t the only Al Ahly player in the Team of the Week, with Abdelkader, Aliou Dieng, Ali Maaloul and Yasser Ibrahim also being named in the selection.
Meanwhile, other finalists Wydad Athletic Club have just two players in the team after their scrappy 1-1 draw with Petro de Luanda in the other semi-final. Luanda and Setif also have two players in the squad.
