Switzerland and Portugal have announced their starting lineup for this evening’s round of 16 clash at Lusail Iconic Stadium, with the big news that Cristiano Ronaldo has been dropped.

Switzerland are coming to this game after a dramatic 3-2 win over Serbia to book their spot in the round of 16.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese side were shocked by South Korea in their last group match but were already qualified after winning the first two games.

Both teams have met twice this year already, with Switzerland beating Portugal 1-0 at home after losing 4-0 away from home.

Portugal have not made it past the last 16 stage since 2006 when they finished in fourth place, while the Nati last made it to the quarter-finals in 1954.

Here is how they line up:

Portugal XI: Diogo Costa, Dalot, Pepe, Rúben Dias, R. Guerreiro, William, Otávio, Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, João Félix, Gonçalo Ramos.

Switzerland XI: Sommer; Fernandes, Schär, Akanji, Rodríguez; Freuler, Xhaka; Shaqiri, Sow, Vargas; Embolo.
