Swallows FC legends Percy Molotsane and Steve Sekano have weighed in on the club’s current situation.

The concerned legends insist that the club’s problems should be addressed as soon as possible to avoid worsening matters.

The Dube Birds are struggling on and off the field. Swallows are currently sitting at the bottom of the DStv Premiership log table. They have accumulated eight points from nine matches.

Also, the team doesn’t have a coach after Dylan Kerr was sacked. Inexperienced player-coach Musa Nyatama has been in charge of the team. The situation seems to be worsening as the Soweto side have lost three matches in a row. On Tuesday, they lost to rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

“We need to fix the boardroom of Swallows; they need to tell us why the team is not performing,” Percy Molotsane told SNAWA.

“I feel sorry for Nyatama, but it’s do or die for him.  Nyatama is being set up for failure with Swallows.

“We appreciate what most of the teams are doing with local coaches. Unfortunately, Nyatama is in a situation where he is taking a team that has been struggling.”

Another club legend Steve Sekano believes that off-field issues are the reason for the players underperform in matches. Players are not motivated to win matches or take the club to next level.

“I have heard that sometimes the players couldn’t go to training because they had no money, that affects the team and its performance,” said Steve Sekano on SNAWA.

“You even find that the coach himself doesn’t know how to motivate the players.

“It’s a difficult situation for the Swallows players as well because if you go on the field not happy, then you will not perform.”

Swallows FC will be aiming to get back to winning ways when they take on another struggling side TS Galaxy on Saturday in the DStv Premiership.

Kickoff at Mbombela Stadium is at 15:30.
