Suspect accused of DJ Warras murder expected to apply for bail

The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court is on Tuesday set to hear the bail application of the man accused of murdering popular media personality Warrick Stock, widely known as DJ Warras.

The accused, 44-year-old Victor Majola, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Stock outside a building in the Johannesburg CBD on 16 December 2025.

Charges against second suspect dropped

Majola last appeared in court on 24 December, when the matter was postponed to allow the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) time to verify his residential address.

Charges against a second accused, a woman who was arrested alongside Majola at a hostel in Soweto, have since been withdrawn due to insufficient evidence.

The NPA has confirmed that it will oppose Majola’s bail application, citing the seriousness of the offence.

Public attention

During previous court proceedings, Majola alleged that he was assaulted by police at the time of his arrest.

The allegation has been noted, but no further details have been provided.

The case continues to draw public attention due to DJ Warras’ prominence in the media industry, with supporters and colleagues closely following developments.
