The 26-man Brazil world cup squad was announced on Monday by national team coach Tite ahead for the tournament in Qatar.
The squad includes 11 attackers with Tottenham’s Richarlison and Manchester United’s Antony.
FIRMINO SNUBBED
But Liverpool forward Firmino was the most noticeable absentee. Martinelli of Arsenal, who only has three caps for his country, was preferred.
England based goalkeepers Alisson and Ederson have also been selected with captain Thiago Silva of Chelsea also in the squad.
Tite has taken only four centre-backs, with Juventus’ Bremer behind Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Eder Militao,
Veteran 39-year-old defender Dani Alves who currently plays for Mexican side PUMAS has been called up. But Arsenal defender Gabriel has been left out.
Brazil are one of the favourites to lift a record sixth World Cup title.

The Brazilian FA also announced that former PSG manager Ricardo Gomes will join Tite’s staff as an assistant. The squad and Tite will gather on 14 November at Juventus’ training facilities in Turin.
Brazil will hold a five-day training camp before flying to Doha on 19 November.
They will open their World Cup campaign against Serbia on 24 November and also face Switzerland and Cameroon in Group G.
The 2022 world cup will commence from 20 November until 18 December 2022.
