Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies were the big winners of the day at the 2022 Hollywoodbets Super League awards ceremony with Boitumelo Rabale and coach Jerry Tshabalala of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies walking away with top awards.
The awards ceremony were held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The outstanding players who have excelled and given their all this campaign were honoured.
Banyana Ba Style star attacking midfielder Rabale was crowned the Hollywoodbets Player of the Season, having finished this term with 24 goals.
‘Kappa’, as he is popularly known, won the Coach of The Year accolade, the very same award he won last season. He went up against the University of the Western Cape’s Thinasonke Mbuli and TUT’s Lucky Sibiya.
Nthabiseng Majiya of Richmond United was awarded The Young Player of the Year for the second season in running.
JVW Ladies veteran striker Nompumelelo Nyandeni snatched the Hollywoodbets Top Goalscorer Award, having netted a total number of 30 goals.
Meanwhile, champions Sundowns were also celebrated after walking away with a R2 million cheque for winning the league.
Masandawana have been a dominant force in the just-ended Super League term and won their third consecutive championship, having won their league title back in 2019.
The red-hot Brazilians will represent South Africa in the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal qualifiers, and they will be hoping to qualify for their third consecutive Champions League.
