Sundowns Lead The Race After High Scoring HSL Weekend

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies remain top of the Hollywoodbets Super League with 12 points following a high-scoring weekend in the league.

First-half goals from Lelona Daweti and Boitumelo Rabale and second-half goals Melinda Kgadiete and Andisiwe Mgcoyi were enough for the defending champions as they saw off newcomers Copperbelt Ladies 4-1 in Tsakane to maintain their perfect record to the start of the campaign.

The Limpopo-based club dropped to 12th place on the table with three points from the same number of games.

University of Western Cape (UWC) claimed second position with their 5-0 win over Thunderbirds Ladies to get to nine points in three outings while UJ are third following a 6-0 thrashing of City Lads.

Though the varsities are tied on nine points UWC enjoys a better goal difference and a game in hand. Royal AM and TS Galaxy Queens could not be separated as they shared spoils in a 2-2 draw in KZN.

The sides lie in fourth and fifth places on the standings with eight and seven points respectively from four matches.
