Mamelodi Sundowns responded in true champions’ style on Saturday night.

After the Golden Arrows shocker, the Brazilians smashed into Richards Bay with a 4-1 thumping at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Coach Miguel Cardoso’s message to the Sundowns faithful is a call for patience and perspective.

Cardoso was clearly a relieved man. The Portuguese mentor suggested that one bad day can happen, but never two in a row. He said the key was a commanding start with early goals.

“I just want to tell again Masandawana family to support the team, it’s just a team with a lot of new players that’s just arrived some of them and the team is growing, it’s going to grow,” the Sundowns mentor said.

Cardoso said in reference to the three draws and a defeat suffered in the nine games before last night. Kabo Yellow drew 1-1 with Chippa United on the first day of the season, drew 0-0 with Kaizer Chiefs and were held 1-1 by Marumo Gallants.

“Obviously, sometimes set-backs don’t help but that’s got a lot to do and a lot to achieve. Looking forward with enthusiasm, involving everybody it’s the only way to shave results and that’s how Sundowns has build the power and forest that’s been in the last years and that’s how it’s going continue to be,” Cardoso added.
