Summer Walker arrives South Africa

American R&B singer Summer Walker arrived in South Africa ahead of her much-anticipated performance at this year’s Rocking The Daisies festival.

Fans and members of the media gathered at O.R. Tambo International Airport to welcome her, marking her first visit to the country.

A TikTok video capturing her arrival quickly went viral, but not everyone was impressed with her choice of outfit.

The singer showed up in a striped pyjama set, a look that many South Africans didn’t find flattering.

Social media users were quick to share their thoughts, with some making light-hearted jokes about her appearance.

One user, @jamie 🍒🎱, asked, “Since when do we wait at the airport for celebrities?” while @Sphessie_ said, “I thought it was Sithelo.”

Another joked, “I thought she escaped from prison,” and @BE⁷. Following added, “The boy in the striped pyjamas.” @ladyinwhite__ also joined in, commenting, “I thought it’s Tebogo Thobejane.”

Despite the mixed reactions, excitement for Walker’s performances remains high.

She is set to headline Rocking The Daisies, taking place from 2 to 5 October at Cloof Wine Estate in Cape Town, before performing at In The City in Pretoria on 5 October at the SunBet Arena.

Fans are eager to finally see her perform live and hear their favorite R&B tracks in person.
