Marumo Gallants are enjoying themselves more when playing continental football than domestically after registering another good win on Sunday.
Gallants visited DRC side Saint Eloi Lupopo in their second Group A match, and they collected maximum points with a convincing 2-1 victory.
Mpho Mvelase opened the scoring in the 25th minute before hv736r765 doubled Gallants’ lead three minutes before half-time.
Saint Eloi Lupopo did get a consolation goal through a late strike by Kadima Kabangu but that’s all it was the home x side could afford on the day.
As a result, Gallants moved to the summit of Group A log with six points from their opening two games, and on course for a place in the quarter-finals.
MARUMO NOT SO GALLANT IN THE DSTV PREMIERSHIP
On the flip side of things, Marumo have not been this ‘Gallant’ in the DStv Premiership as they find themselves rock bottom on the log.
As things stand, Gallants are placed 16th with just 18 points from 21 league games, and they face a possibility of being relegated come May.
Gallants have already had three coaches this season. They started the season with Romain Folz who was later replaced by Dan Malesela.
Malesela was recently given a special leave, and that decision paved way for Dylan Kerr to take over despite being given the role of ‘consultant’ at first.
