Stepfather Faces Court for Alleged Murder of 13-Year-Old Stepson

A 37-year-old stepfather is set to appear before the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday, to face charges related to the alleged murder of his 13-year-old stepson.

On the evening of Friday, June 21, 2024, police were called to a residence in Oos Einde, Rustenburg, by a concerned neighbour. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of young Olebogeng Molebangwe, who had succumbed to his injuries inside the house.

Initial examinations revealed that the boy sustained two stab wounds on his upper arm. The suspect, now in custody, claimed that he had assaulted Olebogeng with a belt as a form of punishment for allegedly leaving his younger sibling unattended.
