Stellies Unveil New No.9

Stellenbosch have unveiled their deadline-day signing of Iqraam Rayners from SuperSport United.

Rayner, 27, has signed a two and half year deal with his former club and bolsters their attacking options further after the recent acquisition of Andre de Jong from Royal AM.

He netted a club record 36 goals in 81 appearances for the club between 2017 and 2020 before being snapped up on a pre-contract by Matsatsansa.

“We are delighted to be able to welcome Iqraam back to Stellenbosch,” head coach Steve Barker said in the club’s official statement.

“He played a big role in our past success, and we are hopeful that he can inspire more success in the future now that he has returned.

“He is obviously someone we know well at the Club, and we are looking forward to once again being able to call upon him for his quality, experience and proven goal scoring record.”

The former Santos star will don the number nine shirt for the Cape Winelands outfit.
