Stellies table an offer for Kaizer Chiefs target

Stellenbosch FC have tabled a two-year deal to former Baroka attacking midfielder Nhlanhla Mgaga, who was a target of Kaizer Chiefs.



As reported by the Siya crew, Stellies were in the lead ahead of Chiefs in the race to sign Mgaga, who had been one of the standout players for Bakgaga Ga Mphahlele last season despite the club’s struggles in the DStv Premiership.

The 26-year-old had emerged as a target for Chiefs, who have been rebuilding their squad, having signed eight new players already.



According to Siya sources, Chiefs made an approach to the player’s camp with a view of adding him to their list of new recruits, while Stellies also showed an interest in the player.

Siya sources in the know subsequently informed the crew that the Cape Winelands outfit are understood to have won the race to sign the player and have agreed on a two-year deal.



which will include an option for a further year, with Mgaga’s camp.

According to Siya source’s the player’s desire is to play regular football next season, something that is not guaranteed in Chiefs’ star-studded squad.



Mgaga made 18 appearances in all competitions for Baroka last season and provided three assists for the Limpopo-based outfit.
