Stellenbosch FC and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting line-ups for this evening’s second Nedbank Cup quarter-final at Athlone Stadium.
Stellies are living the cup of dreams as they’ve reached Nedbank Cup quarter-final for the first time in the history of the club.
Steve Barker might have led AmaTuks to the final of the Ke Yona tournament but he has never reached a last eight with the Cape Winelands side.
It looks like things have changed for Stellies as they’ve scored the most number of goals in tournament this season with nine, with January signing Iqraam Rayners netting four of them in just two games.
The road to treble will need Masandawana to return to winning ways after picking up three successive draws in the league.
Rulani Mokwena’s side have already secured their sixth successive league title but somewhat took the foot of the gas since.
They are also in the quarter-finals of CAF Champions League and will push to defend their Nedbank Cup trophy after beating Marumo Gallants in final last season.
Despite slowing down a little, Sundowns are still unbeaten in 24 games under Mokwena as sole head coach.
Here is how they line up:
Stellenbosch XI: Langeveldt, Makhanya, Sibiya, Basadien, Jurgens, Mthethwa, Jabaar, Mendieta, Adams, Titus, Rayners.
Subs: Bombay, Felix, Ortiz, Nduli, Mcaba, Van Wyk, Boji, Sibande, Mngomezulu
Sundowns XI: Onyango, Mudau, Modiba, Kekana, Mvala, Mokoena, Allende, Maema, Zwane, Sirino, Shalulile.
