The National Prosecuting Authority in the Western Cape says it will oppose bail in the case against Unathi Sintsili.
The 28-year-old suspect appeared in court briefly. He is accused of attacking Intercape buses between March and April this year.
In one instance, a bus driver was shot outside a depot in Cape Town. While the bus company welcomes the breakthrough, it hopes this will lead to successful prosecutions. The provincial transport department has also commended SAPS on the arrests.
