With three rounds remaining, Cape Town Spurs moved back into pole position in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Despite being reduced to ten men in the first half, Cape Town Spurs beat Platinum City Rovers 2-0 on Friday, thanks to goals by Therlo Moosa and Asanele Velebayi.

Polokwane City led for much of their match against JDR Stars, but two late goals from JDR swung things in their direction, before Joseph Mhlongo scored from the halfway line to rescue a point for Polokwane. After going into the round on top, they dropped two points behind Spurs into third.

On Saturday Casric Stars moved to second spot, behind Spurs on goal difference, thanks to a tight 1-0 win over AmaTuks.

Hungry Lions and Black Leopards ended goalless, meaning Leopards will likely have to win all remaining games to avoid relegation.

All Stars picked up a good 2-1 over Baroka, who are still not safe themselves.

Tshakhuma kept their slim hopes of avoiding relegation alive with a 2-0 victory on Sunday over Magesi, while Uthongathi and Venda Football Academy ended 1-1.

Meanwhile, La Masia picked up a much-needed win on Friday, as they beat Pretoria Callies 2-1.
