South African star Tyla shines brightly on the latest cover of V Magazine, marking a remarkable chapter in her blossoming career.
Tyla has taken the global music scene by storm, breaking Billboard records, winning her first GRAMMY, and headlining festivals across Europe.
TYLA’S NEW EP
Recently, she released her new EP, WWP (We Wanna Party), and now prepares to drop her new single, ‘Chanel’.
In the V Magazine interview, Tyla opened up about her rapid rise and her ambitions, revealing a desire to be more than just a singer.
“I just want to be a rockstar, you know?” she shares with determination, according to That Grape Juice.
Tyla reflects on the whirlwind year she has experienced, saying, “My life has been very exciting. I’ve learned a lot. I feel like I was kind of forced to grow up a bit faster and step more into myself.”
TYLA’S GROWTH
This growth has shaped not only her music but also her confidence. “For a long time, I wasn’t showing much of myself.
But now, I’m way more comfortable with people knowing everything about me,” Tyla explains.
Her music draws from many influences and experiences. Tyla enjoys recording in different cities. “I made ‘Mr. Media’ in London, in a studio filled with paintings. The vibe there really helped shape the song.”
WORKING IN SOUTH AFRICA
She also spends time working in South Africa, Nigeria, LA, and Barcelona, which keeps her sound fresh and diverse.
Tyla aims to connect deeply with her South African fans, affectionately calling them her ‘Tygers.’
She says, “I want my music to make people feel something real — the fun, the ups and downs of life in your twenties. That’s the vibe I want to share.”
GLOBAL RISE IN MUSIC
Her willingness to experiment shows in tracks like Bliss. “I was trying something new for fun, even if it became a bit of a meme,” she laughs, proud of her process and growth.
Tyla’s star continues to rise, and her journey promises even more exciting music for South Africa and the world to enjoy.
