South Africans No Longer Required To Wear Face Masks

The remaining COVID-19 regulations have been repealed by the government.

The restrictions on wearing masks indoors and on public events and gatherings have all been lifted. On Wednesday evening, Health Minister Joe Phaahla published the most recent amendments in the Government Gazette.

Phaahla’s decision came after a meeting of the National Coronavirus Command Council, which debated whether the remaining COVID-19 regulations were still applicable.

Phaahla and Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele are scheduled to brief the nation on Thursday at 11 a.m.
