Songwriter Semesings Speaks Out Against DJ Skillz Over ‘Ngonakele’ Credits Controversy
Songwriter Semesings has come out into the open regarding allegations directed at DJ Skillz concerning the song titled “Ngonakele”, claiming that he wrote and composed it but was ultimately removed from the credits.
Semesings states that he wrote and composed the song but later discovered that his name was completely excluded from the official credits. He claims he initially attempted to resolve the dispute privately by requesting the appropriate credits and songwriting splits for his creative work. However, his private requests were rejected, forcing him to speak out publicly.
He accuses DJ Skillz of exploiting his work without giving him proper recognition as a co-creator of the track.
Semesings emphasised that creatives should not be used for their labour and then sidelined when it is time to acknowledge their contributions.
