Kaizer Chiefs’ goalscorer Dillan Solomons has opened up on his important penalty in their 1-0 win against Richards Bay on Saturday evening.

The Amakhosi finished the game with 10 men after Yusuf Maart received a red card in the 31st minute but Chiefs showed character as they kept on fighting up until they received a penalty in the 62nd minute.

Solomons stepped up and converted – despite changing he corner of the penalty, as he normally kicks his penalties on the right-hand side.

“They wanted me to come in and do this, just give energy, I just want to help the team where I can and I know my energy will always be there,” Solomons told SuperSport TV.

“There’s a lot of players in Richards Bay that know me. A lot of them played for Tuks so they know my penalty side. I think they told the keeper to go to the side I normally kick to so I have to change.”

The former Swallows FC defender praised the welcoming at Chiefs as he states that he was made feel at home from day one after joining Amakhosi at the beginning of the current season.

“Look I can only get better from here, but like I said before they made me feel at home,” he said.

“I mean every new player was made to feel at home. So I can only grow from here and we can only grow as a team

“Personal look I’ve my own goals. I want to play as much as I can so hopefully I can do that for the team”
