Sol Phenduka clears the air on relationship with Nota

Radio personality and podcaster Sol Phenduka has dismissed claims that he harbours hatred toward controversial music executive Nota Baloyi, following renewed speculation about their strained dynamic.

The conversation gained momentum after the Podcast and Chill Network’s Reshuffle Round Table aired on 27 February 2026, unveiling a “new era” line-up that includes Nota.

Viewers quickly picked up what they described as tension between the two men, prompting debate across social media.

One X user, SIYA_VS, directly confronted Sol, writing: “@Solphendukaa, you hate Nota, neh? Like, everything you said, even after the ‘We cool’ chat, just showed that you despise the guy.”

Sol was quick to shut down the suggestion. “No man, I don’t hate Nota,” he replied plainly.

During the roundtable discussion, part of the friction appeared to centre around their respective relationships with veteran broadcaster Sizwe Dhlomo.

The exchange turned competitive as both men laid claim to a closer bond with Dhlomo.

Sol offered to call Sizwe to clarify certain claims about Kaya 959 and casually referred to him as “his boy.”

Nota fired back: “He’s not ‘your boy,’ he’s my boy,” arguing that his history with Dhlomo dates back to high school and runs deeper than a professional connection.

Sol countered by questioning the depth of that friendship.

“Have you been to Sizwe’s house? No one just goes to Sizwe’s house. Only people like Trevor Noah go to his house, not just any random person,” he said.

This is so funny🤣,@SizweDhlomo is really him. #podcastandchill pic.twitter.com/CPzeKRwpwq
