Following the successful launch of SOL Distro, SlikourOnLife’s pioneering artist empowerment platform, the company now introduces SOL Distro Summer of Visuals, a revolutionary initiative redefining how music and visual storytelling are funded on the continent.

Summer of Visuals is a pilot project that gives artists the opportunity to receive funding for their visual projects while maintaining 100% ownership of their work and with no obligation to recoup the investment. This marks a major step toward creating a more equitable and sustainable creative economy for artists across Africa.

Redefining media in music

This first-of-its-kind initiative brings together music, media, and technology to create a new model for collaboration, one that values artistic integrity and independent growth. SOL Distro is pioneering a system where artists can develop their visual projects, tell their stories authentically, and access professional support – without compromising ownership or creative control. By funding visuals directly, SOL Distro is testing a new model for music-media integration where storytelling, visuals, and music converge to build culture while empowering artists economically.

A vision for the future of African music

“Our goal is to change the music business with everything we have learned outside the music business and everything we need to unlearn inside it. That is the only way we will make an impact”, says Siya “Slikour” Metane, Founder of SOL Distro and SlikourOnLife.

Through Summer of Visuals, SOL Distro continues its mission to create systems that put power back into the hands of artists combining creative freedom, access to funding, and ownership in a way that transforms the future of African music.

Some notable artist names collaborating with SOL Distro Summer of Visuals are Blaklez, Jay Jody, Dusse Wavy, Roii, Touchline, as well as Given Kanu and DJ Stresser.
