Sjava to perform at MaXhosa’s first full Paris fashion week show

MaXhosa Africa by Laduma Ngxokolo is set to make history with its first full runway show at Paris Fashion Week, with Sjava being announced to perform for the global fashion brand on the opening day of the runway show.

The annual international fashion exhibit runs from 28 September to 6 October 2026.

Sjava heads to Paris

As part of a historic moment for the brand, Sjava, popularly using the title Indlalifa, will perform live as the brand features 60 pieces that reflect its continued evolution in showcasing a distinctly African identity.

The announcement follows their previous collaborations together, where Sjava appeared in promotional campaigns and modelled for the brand’s ‘Siyikultura’ teaser ahead of the March 2026 shows.

In a press conference ahead of the SS26/27 Fashion Week kickoff, the artist is seen reciting a verse from Seasons, one of the most iconic collaborations in his career: his feature on Kendrick Lamar’s Black Panther soundtrack. Sjava recited the lyrics introducing himself in Zulu.

“Where I come from, they said I wouldn’t make it, thus I’m amazed when I’m here.”

This ties into the gratitude he shared later on in his speech, where he thanked Laduma and the MaXhosa Africa brand for allowing him to be a part of the moment.

Celebrating South African identity on the global stage

MaXhosa Africa choosing Sjava to perform for the runway show is an aligned choice, as both the artist and the fashion house have curated brands that celebrate South African identity.
