A streaming hiccup for a platinum project
South African hitmaker Sjava has taken to social media to calm fans after some reported problems accessing his latest EP, Inkanyezi Live.
The Afro-soul artist explained that the glitch was technical, not permanent. “If Inkanyezi is showing ‘Not Available,’ please remove and re-download it. Sorry for the inconvenience,” he posted.
The timing is striking. Just last week, Inkanyezi Live was confirmed to have gone triple platinum, an achievement Sjava himself called “big love to the team that made this possible.”
A project rooted in live energy
Released in January 2025, Inkanyezi Live captured what Sjava is best known for: the intimacy and power of his concerts. Fans who have queued for hours to see him perform already know his shows are a blend of storytelling, emotion, and community. The EP brought that atmosphere into homes, giving listeners five tracks that balance love, longing, and devotion.
The title, “Inkanyezi,” means “a star” in isiZulu, a fitting symbol for how Sjava positions performance as central to his career.

From Bergville to the world stage
Born Jabulani Hadebe in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal, Sjava first broke through with his 2016 debut, Isina Muva, which cemented his place as one of South Africa’s leading Afro-soul voices. Awards and sold-out shows followed, as he built a reputation for weaving traditional influences into modern soundscapes.
After the release of his third studio album, Isibuko, in 2023, Sjava doubled down on live performance, completing two sold-out tours in 2023 and 2024. Inkanyezi Live is both a continuation of that energy and a celebration of his growth.
